Golf's Charitable Contributions to Society

Golf has always been known to be one of the biggest contributors to charitable donations for several different areas. It is only one of a few professional sports that donate as much as they do to charity. These charitable donations benefit adults as well as children. The world of golf is a unique one. It is a quite sport and one that is individual and now, the amount of money that these professional golfers make is enormous. Unlike other sports, golf wants to give back.

Golf has raised an incredible amount of money through their tournaments, and on a local level, they have involved local law, churches, crime stoppers, and the communities as a whole. The charitable giving comes mostly from one hundred and forty thousand golf outings. There were over fifteen million participants and raised an astonishing three billion dollars so far and these efforts will only grow in nature and money. The golf tour by itself raises seventy five to one hundred million dollars.

Tiger Woods, alone, is changing the lives of kids all over the world. Aside from his now famous learning school in California which Tiger Woods himself built and paid for, he is affecting children in the third world countries like Africa, India, Brazil and many more. Woods’ theme is for the parents to be involved and be responsible. He has donated millions of his own money to aid children in a better life. With the Rainforest Foundation, he has donated several million dollars personally to start this program that helps the Indians in Brazil by trying to preserve their rain forests.
